Free art galleries, sensory kits at the Box Office, free parking by the door, and sensory-friendly shows with softer lights, lower sound and a safe room. The galleries are the easy first visit; the shows come later.
Box Office and Galleries: Monday to Friday 11 am to 7 pm, Saturday 10 am to 4 pm, Sunday noon to 4 pm. Galleries stay open until 7:30 pm on select theatre nights, Wednesday to Saturday.
“Sensory-friendly are relaxed performances designed to be welcoming and inclusive for families” “This includes softened lighting effects, lowering sound levels and a reduction of sudden movements.” “Lights are kept higher in the theatre so audience members can see each other.”
Sensory kits: “These kits are available for check-out at the Box Office at any time during business hours.” At theatre performances, “you can check out a sensory kit at the Accessibility table.”
Nothing sensory-friendly is on the calendar until February. The next one is Pete the Cat on Fri Feb 12 2027 at 1 pm; tickets are a $20 package that includes a short backstage program after the show.
The Center doesn't say when it's quieter. The galleries are free every day, so there's no free-day crowd to dodge. Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (Nov 20 to Jan 3) has ASL performances Dec 2 and Dec 12, but those aren't sensory-friendly. Joseph is billed as having “the style and energy of a rock concert”; to ask about strobe lights or theatrical fog, call the Box Office at 720-898-7200.
Sensory kits can be checked out at the Box Office any time it is open, and at the Accessibility table at shows. Each kit has noise-reducing headphones (child and adult), fidgets, rose-tinted glasses for light sensitivity, a child's textured sensory seat cushion, and a weighted lap blanket or shoulder pad. Call 720-898-7200 to ask about any deposit.
The galleries are free. Reserve a free spot online or check in at the Box Office.
Parking is free and close to the entrance; ADA spots are closest to the main entrance.
